Additional Summer Housing Programs

Whether you’re doing academic work, are employed by a UCSC department, or are part of the Resilient Scholars Program, there is a summer housing option available to you. Eligibility
To be eligible for these summer housing options, you must meet the requirements for one of the programs below:

Billing and payment
Once assigned to housing, charges will be posted to your university billing account and an electronic billing statement will be generated. You can view your billing statement and account activity online through the MyUCSC Portal.
- Visit Housing Billing and Payment for information regarding a payment plan.
- Visit Student Business Services Payments and Billing for information regarding how to make your payment.
Financial Aid
Any housing/dining balance not covered by financial aid awards is the responsibility of the student. Financial Aid recipients are advised to:
- Review and ensure all financial aid eligibility requirements have been met.
- Review a summary of financial aid award(s) with an adviser in the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office.
Late payments
It is your responsibility to keep Student Housing Services informed of any payment delays—no matter what the source of funds (financial aid, outside scholarship, personal funds, etc.). A deferment of the due date may be approved if you contact us prior to the payment deadline.
- Delinquency in payment may result in a hold on your enrollment, preventing registration in classes. Once the hold has been placed on your account, all past due charges must be paid in order to release this hold.
- Prolonged delinquency in payment may also result in the University taking action to terminate the housing contract.
Early Arrival Program
Students with a space in university housing for fall 2025 are eligible to move to their fall housing assignment at the conclusion of the summer housing contract as part of the Early Arrival Program at an additional cost. Interested students must sign up for an early arrival via the Housing Portal. A $524.85 Early Arrival fee will be billed to the student’s university account.
Cancellation process
- Prior to taking residence, if your plans change and you are unable to live in university housing, you must login to the Housing Portal and cancel your application/contract.
- After taking residence, requests for housing contract cancellation must be initiated through the Housing Portal, pending review by the Residential Life and Housing Office. Moving out or turning in keys without official approval will not release you from your contractual obligation, and you will continue to be billed accordingly.
