Application Process:

The summer housing application is available beginning May 1 at studenthousing.ucsc.edu. Housing is limited, and priority will be given to students who submit a housing application by May 10.

Cancellation Process:

  • Prior to taking residence, if your plans change and you are unable to live in university housing, you must login to studenthousing.ucsc.edu and cancel your application/contract.
  • After taking residence, requests for housing contract cancellation must be initiated through studenthousing.ucsc.edu. The housing office at your residential community will contact you regarding your request. Moving out or turning in keys without official approval will not release you from your contractual obligation, and you will continue to be billed accordingly.

Billing and Payment

Once assigned to housing, charges will be posted to your university billing account and an electronic billing statement will be generated. You can view your billing statement and account activity online through the MyUCSC Portal (my.ucsc.edu).

Financial Aid: Any housing/dining balance not covered by financial aid awards is the responsibility of the student. Financial Aid recipients are advised to:

  • Review and ensure all financial aid eligibility requirements have been met (financialaid.ucsc.edu)
  • Review a summary of financial aid award(s) with an adviser in the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office

It is your responsibility to keep the Campus Housing Office informed of any payment delays—no matter what the source of funds (financial aid, outside scholarship, personal funds, etc.). A deferment of the due date may be approved if you contact us prior to the payment deadline.

  • Delinquency in payment may result in a hold on your enrollment, preventing registration in classes. Once the hold has been placed on your account, all past due charges must be paid in order to release this hold.
  • Prolonged delinquency in payment may also result in the University taking action to terminate the housing contract.
