I'm a newly admitted freshman
First, accept your offer of admission. Newly admitted freshmen must complete the online acceptance process at my.ucsc.edu by the deadline (May 15 for fall quarter admits; October 15 for winter quarter admits).

Want to live in university housing?
- UCSC has a college system that creates 10 smaller communities within the large university. Freshmen are generally assigned housing at their college.
- In late-May for fall quarter admits, and late-October for winter quarter admits, the Campus Housing Office will send a message to your UCSC email account with information about how to apply for housing.
Want to live in university housing with your family member(s)?
- Family Student Housing is a family-friendly housing option with on-site child care.
Prefer to find your own housing in the off-campus community?
- UCSC Community Rentals Office has off-campus housing listings and a wealth of online resources to assist you in your search.

Want to live in university housing?
- New transfer students are eligible to live at the Transfer Community, Redwood Grove, the University Town Center, or one of the UCSC colleges. As a transfer student, you can participate in programs at your UCSC college and at your housing community. Remember, the more flexible you are when ranking housing preferences in your application, the greater your chance of being assigned university housing.
