November 1 - 30, 2017
Apply for admission to UC Santa Cruz.

March 2, 2018
Deadline for submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

March 15 - 31, 2018 for new freshmen
March 17 - April 30, 2018 for new transfers

Admissions decisions appear at my.ucsc.edu for on-time applicants.

By April 1, 2018
2018-19 room and board rates available at housing.ucsc.edu.

May 1, 2018 for new freshmen
June 1, 2018 for new transfers

Deadline to accept the offer of admission by completing the Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) at my.ucsc.edu.

During the online admission acceptance process you will be asked to:

  • Rank your top five college preferences. You may also choose to indicate “no preference.”
  • Indicate a preference for university housing. Only students who indicate a preference for university housing and submit all forms and required fees by stated deadlines will be eligible for a housing guarantee.

May 14, 2018 for new freshmen
June 7, 2018 for new transfers

College affiliation assignments and instructions for completing the online housing application/ contract process sent to all new students who meet the SIR deadline and indicate a preference for university housing.

If you indicate a preference for finding your own off-campus housing, you will be sent information about the Community Rentals Office (communityrentals.ucsc.edu).

May 29, 2018 for new freshmen
June 22, 2018 for new transfers

Deadline to accept your university housing guarantee by completing the online housing application/contract at studenthousing.ucsc.edu.

In Late-August 2018
Your housing assignment, including room and roommate information, will be sent to your UCSC email account by your residential community.

Mid-September 2018
Housing fees are due. View your university billing account and submit payment through the Student Portal (my.ucsc.edu).

September 20-23, 2018 (approximately)
Fall Move-in. Exact dates for each college/community will be available at housing.ucsc.edu/move-in.
