Important Housing Dates for New Students
Through November 30, 2023
Apply for admission to UC Santa Cruz.
Late February-mid March, 2024 for new freshmen applicants
April 1–30, 2024 for new transfers applicants
Admissions decisions appear at my.ucsc.edu for on-time applicants.
May 2, 2024
Extended California state deadline for submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Dream App.
May 15, 2024 - Extended deadline for new freshmen
June 1, 2024 for new transfers
Deadline to accept the offer of admission by completing the Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) at my.ucsc.edu.
During the online admission acceptance process you will be asked to:
- Rank your top five college preferences. You may also choose to indicate “no preference.”
- Indicate a preference for university housing.
Late-May for new freshmen with May 15 admissions acceptance deadline
Late-June for new transfer and new visiting students with June 1 admissions acceptance deadline
NOTE: Students admitted after the initial admissions acceptance deadlines will be given a later deadline by which to apply for university housing.
August 20, 2024
Housing assignment information (including room and roommate assignments) available to students in the Housing Portal.
September 18, 2024
Payment due for fall quarter housing/dining charges. View your university billing account and submit payment through the MyUCSC Portal (my.ucsc.edu).
September 19-25, 2024 (approximately)
Fall Move-in. Exact dates for each college/community will be available at housing.ucsc.edu/move-in.
