Housing Consolidation

Three students in a triple room

  • 50% or less occupancy in a bedroom and/or an apartment
  • Students assigned to lounges as temporary accommodations
  • Administrative needs

  • Move to another room*
  • Welcome a roommate(s) moving from another room being consolidated*
  • Welcome a roommate(s) assigned by the University

*roommate requests will be honored during this process, if possible

  • Our goal is to keep any roommate pairings together when consolidating spaces, but that is not always possible.
  • Students who fail to adhere to the consolidation policy are subject to disciplinary action and/or the appropriate rent charges.
  • If any housing/residential staff member receives information that an attempt is being made on the part of a student to discourage, refuse, or intimidate a potential or newly assigned roommate it may result in disciplinary action.
  • The University maintains the right to assign or reassign students to any university-sponsored residence space that is available and to initiate adjustments to the room rate based on the actual room accommodation.

Can I request a room change if I know of a vacancy in another room?

Yes! If you know of an available space and would like to move to that specific room we will try to accommodate that request.

When would room changes occur?

Changes can occur mid-quarter or at the end of the quarter. Housing staff work with each individual student to coordinate the timing of their move and support them through the process.
