Prepare and Plan
Get ready for fall 2025 move-in
There are a few time-sensitive steps to complete before move-in. Before you start packing, take care of important tasks—like submitting your ID photo, reviewing your housing assignment, and picking a move-in appointment time.

Submit your student ID photo
Deadline: July 25, 2025
Your student ID card is essential—it often functions as your room key and grants access to dining halls, buses, libraries, athletic facilities, and more. If you submit your photo by the deadline, your card and quarterly bus pass sticker will be ready for pickup on move-in day.
How to submit
- Go to the ID Card Services website.
- Follow the photo submission instructions.
- Wait for email confirmation once your photo is approved.
Missed the deadline?
You can still move in on your assigned day—but your ID will not be available at check-in. You’ll need to pick it up on or after September 29 at ID Card Services (Bay Tree Campus Store, 2nd floor).
Check your room & roommate info
Available: August 20, 2025
On or after August 20, you’ll receive an email (subject: “Fall 2025 Housing Assignment and Move-In”) with your assignment details and a link to sign up for your move-in appointment.
What to do:
- Log into the Housing Portal view your room assignment and roommate/housemate information.
- Roommate details may be unavailable if someone has requested a non-release of their information.
Need to request a change?
If your housing assignment doesn’t meet a critical need (e.g., gender, finances), contact your college/community housing office right away. While changes can’t be guaranteed before move-in, we’ll do our best to help.
If you have a disability-related housing need that hasn’t yet been communicated, start the process now. Submit a housing accommodation request through the Disability Resource Center (DRC) as soon as possible.
Want to preview your space?
Check your college/community page to view sample room layouts, photos, and virtual tours. Keep in mind that room sizes and furniture can vary.
Tip: Coordinate with your roommates
Start a group chat to discuss shared items like a MicroFridge rental, coffee maker, or fan.
Sign up for a move-in appointment
Available: August 20, 2025
Move-in appointments are first come, first served. You’ll sign up for a time slot on your designated move-in day (based on your housing assignment location).
How it works:
- Appointment sign-up info will be included in your housing assignment email.
- Log into the Housing Portal to select your time.
- Times are staggered to reduce traffic and wait times.
Early arrival option
Students who meet eligibility criteria may request to move in before their scheduled date. Learn more on the Early Arrival Program page.
Need to make changes or having trouble?
Contact your college/community housing office with any questions.
If you can’t find your move-in email, log into the Housing Portal and select the Messages option from the menu.
