UC Santa Cruz is home to many students who are also parents or caregivers. Whether you’re searching for family-friendly housing, childcare, or support resources, this page is here to help you get started.


Family Student Housing
Live in a supportive campus community designed for student families. Family Student Housing (FSH) offers:
- Spacious two-bedroom apartments
- On-site child care
- Community events and outdoor spaces
- Year-round contracts

Early Education Services
UCSC’s Early Education Services provides high-quality infant, toddler, preschool, and school age programs for families in the campus community.
- Located adjacent to Family Student Housing
- Developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Programs: Infant (11–24 months), Toddler (18–36 months), Preschool (3–5 years), and School-age (TK–second grade)
- Income-based tuition assistance program available

Off-campus housing
Many students with families choose to live in the surrounding Santa Cruz community. Community Rentals offers tools and guidance for your housing search, including:

- Renters Workshop
- Application tips and housing search timelines
- Webinars and off-campus housing fairs
