Quarantine and Isolation Housing

UCSC’s Slug Strong response to the COVID pandemic includes providing quarantine and isolation housing for students who are sick or have been exposed to coronavirus.

Terminology

  • Quarantine Housing: limits contact between someone who may have been exposed to the virus and other members of the community
  • Isolation Housing: separates sick people with a contagious illness from people who are not sick

Quarantine and isolation housing provides a supportive experience for students who have been exposed to or have become ill with COVID-19.

  • Private single rooms and access to private bathroom
  • Meal delivery by UCSC Dining
  • Spaces cleaned and sanitized between occupants
  • Students receive support for their academic and personal well-being
  • Students participate virtually in academic and social events
