Housing Information Sessions
Attend an information session at your college/community to learn about housing options, the room and apartment selection process, ways to improve your chances of getting a space, and more. See schedule »
Before you apply, do some planning! Understanding your options and the Room Selection process can help you decide which college/community to choose on your application. For example, if you apply for housing at your college, you are eligible to participate in earlier Room Selection Passes than if you apply to live at another college. And if you would like to form a group with friends you hope to live with, you all must apply to the same community.
Attend an Info Session, get informed, and carefully consider where you plan to apply. If you have priority status, you must apply by the April 17 deadline or you will lose your priority status.
What does PRIORITY mean?
Benefits of Priority Status | With Priority Status | Without Priority Status |
---|---|---|
Eligible to apply for housing |
✅ |
✅ * |
Eligible to receive a room selection lottery time and perhaps select your own housing |
✅ |
|
Eligible for priority assignment by housing staff if you don’t select a space during room selection |
✅ |
|
(*) General waitlist; applications will only be considered after all students with priority status have been offered housing, subject to space availability. |
Tip! Rank as many room types as possible when filling out your housing application. Include all the room types you agree to accept. The more flexible you are about the types of rooms that you will accept, the more opportunities it gives housing coordinators to find a space for you.
Students with priority status must adhere to the following conditions in order to maintain priority.
Students with priority status will be eligible to participate in Room Selection. Students can participate either as an individual or as a member of a group with other students who applied to the same community and have priority status.
A randomized lottery will be used to determine the order in which students are invited to log in to the Room Selection process. more »
Roommate Groups
In preparation for Room Selection, students with priority status can only form roommate groups with other priority students who applied for the same community. You will not be able to request your intended roommate(s) until they have completed their housing application. Learn more about forming a roommate group »
