Early Arrival Program

The Colleges and University Housing Services (CUHS) offers an Early Arrival Program that permits students who have a compelling need to move into their fall housing assignment before the scheduled start date of the housing contract period.

To be eligible a student must meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Student is employed by a program, department, or college that requires them to start working prior to the start of the fall quarter
• Student is associated with a program, department, or college that has invited or requested their participation in a pre-fall quarter training or orientation program
• Student is a university housing resident for the duration of the summer
• Student's move-in date is scheduled to occur during a religious holiday. (Student may request an early move-in by contacting the Housing Coordinator at their college or residential facility. There is no additional charge to move in early for religious reasons.)
• In 2009, Colleges with a Saturday move-in will be providing a Thursday, September 17th move-in option by request. This will be available for both new and continuing students at no additional charge. Please contact your Housing Coordinator to arrange this option.

Interested campus groups should contact the Early Arrival Program by email at: earlyarrivalprogram@ucsc.edu for more information.  Requests from groups to participate will be reviewed by the CUHS Summer Housing Planning Committee.

Eligible students (based on the above criteria) interested in arranging for an early fall move-in should contact their employer or the UCSC program inviting them to participate in pre-fall quarter training or orientation programs. The employer or program will need to submit a request to the CUHS Summer Housing Planning Committee in order to participate in the Early Arrival Program.
