Let's face it, the current economy is affecting all students and the rate saver option is our way of helping you save now. Whether you currently live in a residence hall, other university housing, or off-campus, you can make campus housing your plan for 2012-13 and enjoy big savings.
How do you take advantage of this Rate Saver option? It’s simple!
- Apply during Priority Housing Application Period (April 16-23, 2012)
- Select (or be assigned) a space in a residence hall room
- Maintain continuous residence in a residence hall room throughout the 2012-13 academic year

Conditions of Rate Saver:
- Residence Hall rate saver option is available during the 2012-13 academic year only.
- Option will be available to Priority Housing Application Period applicants who apply for housing to begin in Fall 2012, Winter 2013, or Spring 2013. Continuous residence must be maintained from start of application term through end of academic year.
- If student cancels her/his 2012-13 Priority Housing Application Period contract/residence hall assignment due to withdrawal, leave of absence, or to participate in an exchange program she/he can petition Student Housing Services to reinstate rate saver benefits upon return to UCSC and a residence hall assignment for 2012-13.
- If student cancels her/his 2012-13 Priority Housing Application Period contract/residence hall assignment for any other reason than noted above, her/his rate saver benefits will be voided.
- If student receiving rate saver benefits moves from a residence hall room to an apartment her/his rate saver benefits will be voided.
- If student moves from an apartment to a residence hall room they will receive rate saver benefits if she/he applied during the Priority Housing Application Period.
