Meal Plans

While meal plans are included with many of the housing contracts, convenient meal plans and Flexi Dollars are also available to all students, faculty, and staff.

• Students who do not currently have a meal plan can purchase one at studenthousing.ucsc.edu
• Faculty and Staff can purchase a meal plan at the Student Housing Services office (104 Hahn)

5-Day / 7-Day Meal Plan:
Required for all students in residence halls:

• All-you-care-to-eat
• Eat in any open dining hall (dining hall hours)
• Frequent any dining hall as often as you wish
• Plans include: 4 guest meals and $50 Flexi Dollars per quarter
• With the 7-Day Plan you can eat all weekend long for not much more money... check it out!

55 Meals Per Quarter Plan:
Minimum requirement for apartment residents

• 55 meals per quarter
• $50 Flexi Dollars per quarter included
• Can be used by you or any guest(s) accompanying you
• Additional blocks of 10 meals can be added to these plans

75 Meals Per Quarter Plan:
Minimum requirement for University Inn residents

• 75 meals per quarter
• $50 Flexi Dollars per quarter
• Can be used by you or any guest(s) accompanying you during any meal period at any dining hall on campus and at the University Inn
• Additional blocks of 10 meals may be added to this plan
• Meal plan pricing

55/75 Meals Per Quarter Plan holders...did you know you can use your meals at more locations than just the dining halls? (They hold an $8.00 value). Have a delicious meal at the University Center's Terra Fresca Resturant. Check out Kresge's Owl's Nest Cafe. The Oakes Cafe is great for meeting with friends and have you seen the views from their deck? Also, did you know that you can buy groceries with your meals? Check it out!

Slug Club Meals:

• Anyone (staff/faculty/students/general public) is eligible to purchase Slug Club meals
• Purchase in increments of 5 meals at any campus dining hall
• Can be purchased with cash, checks, credit cards, or Flexi Dollars
• Unused meals roll over from quarter to quarter (fall-winter-spring) and expire at the end of the academic year in which they are purchased
• Available for purchase during the summer and valid through the next academic year
• Can be used by you or any guest(s) accompanying you during any meal period at any dining hall including the University Inn

Meal Plan Changes:
(applies to students living in college housing or at the University Inn)

• Students may increase meal plans at any time within a quarter. Send an email to meals@ucsc.edu to request an upgrade.
• Students may decrease their meal plans by filing an online amendment only during the filing periods noted in Important Dates.
• Note: Students who move from a residence hall to an apartment, or to a residence hall from an apartment, will be bound by the meal plan requirements of said facility.
